CoinRank News: The European Central Bank (ECB) announced the establishment of an innovation center consisting of 70 institutions to test its digital euro project. Participants include Accenture, Swiss telecommunications company Swisscom, Spanish bank CaixaBank, KPMG, one of the Big Four accounting firms, etc., covering start-ups, banks and payment service providers. The center will explore the payment functions and application scenarios of the digital euro. According to the ECBs plan, the preparation phase of the digital euro is expected to end in October 2025, and whether it will be officially issued will depend on the progress of EU legislation.
